Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in San Diego is seeking a Manager, Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHSS) to provide leadership for safety programs across R&D, engineering, maintenance, and site operations.

You will drive regulatory readiness, risk management, and continuous improvement while integrating EHSS standards into capital projects and daily operations. The role partners with regional and global teams to protect employees and the surrounding community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
• Strong knowledge of EHSS regulations across federal, state, local levels.
• Experience implementing and managing EHSS programs and audits.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and improvement of EHSS safety programs and systems.
• Provide technical leadership across safety programs including hazardous energy control and biosafety compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and facilities to embed EHSS requirements into operations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain inspection readiness; liaise with regulators and stakeholders.
• Lead EHSS audits, inspections and CAPA processes.
