Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in San Diego seeks a Manager of Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHSS) to lead safety programs across R&D, engineering, and facilities. You will drive regulatory readiness, risk control, and a strong EHSS culture, ensuring safe day-to-day operations and alignment with global standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline required.
• 5+ years of EHSS experience in regulated environments such as biotech, pharma, lab, or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of EHSS regulations across federal, state and local jurisdictions.
• Experience implementing and managing EHSS programs, compliance systems, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHSS safety programs, policies, and systems to align with corporate standards and regulations.
• Provide technical leadership across safety programs (hazardous energy control, hot work, biosafety).
• Partner with R&D, engineering, and facilities to embed EHSS requirements into operations.
