Job summary

Sofidel America in Florida is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our Haines City site. You will assist the EHS Manager in maintaining programs, training staff, and overseeing compliance with regulations and company policies.

The role involves conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or degree in a Science-related field with a minimum 1 year of work experience dedicated to health and safety and/or environmental field in an industrial setting.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate EHS programs and metrics for facility management and reporting.
• Keep knowledge of applicable federal, state, local regulations and corporate policies.
• Coach management to ensure compliance with audits.
• Provide training on safety policies and practices to employees, supervisors and managers.
• Facilitate safety orientation for new employees and visiting contractors.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend modifications for a safe work environment.
• Suggest risk mitigation measures to management.
• Conduct health and safety inspections/audits and ensure corrective actions are tracked.
• Maintain presence on the production floor and provide feedback and coaching.
• Perform environmental compliance audits/inspections and assist with reports and permits.
• Respond to and investigate EHS incidents and drive corrective/preventive actions.
• Participate in meetings to align activities with regulatory guidelines.
