Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in West Caldwell, NJ seeks an EHS Specialist to implement and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs under the Operations Manager. The role designs facilities and procedures and drives EH&S initiatives across the site.

Responsibilities include audits, training delivery, hazardous waste management, regulatory reporting, and staying current with evolving EH&S regulations. Strong communication and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or Occupational Safety and Health.
• 2–5 years of EH&S experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
• Ability to use Windows-based software including MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to investigate potentially hazardous situations.
• Preferred certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, HAZWOPER, and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and maintain EH&S procedures and permits.
• Coordinate safety audits, incident investigations, ergonomic evaluations, storm-water inspections, and emergency checks; advise management on improvements.
• Plan and deliver EH&S training, including new-hire safety orientation and materials handling education.
• Manage hazardous waste handling, storage, labeling, inspection logs, transport, disposal, and reporting.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts; participate in Emergency Response Team activities.
• Support cross-functional EH&S tasks as assigned by the EH&S Manager.
