Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational HSE discipline, Science or Engineering is required.
• Functional safety knowledge in regulatory requirements, safety technical aspects, risk management, behavior-based safety, training, regulatory agency enforcement.
• Experience in metal fabrication and/or equipment manufacturing environment preferred.
• Professional Safety certification or the desire to attain certification (CIH, CSP, CHMM, etc.)
• Above-average skills with MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; Experience with productivity and flow charting/process documentation tools.
• Strong data analysis abilities and outstanding communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the subject matter expert for safety and environmental issues and programs, maintains knowledge of laws and compliance of company programs.
• Develops and implements safety policies, incentive programs, and processes.
• Manages employee environmental and safety training, including OSHA-required training.
• Leads internal audits and incident investigations to determine root causes and implement changes.
• Drives safety communications related to metrics, audits, incidents, and policy updates.
