Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking an early-career EHS Specialist to champion safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance at the Schenectady site.

You will work with operations to build a proactive safety culture, manage EHS data, drive risk reduction, and implement Life Saving Rules. The role requires a BS in EHS/Engineering or an AS with 2+ years of EHS experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Gensuite/Workday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EHS, Engineering, or a related field; or an A.S. in an EHS-related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MS Office Suite and EHS data management software (Gensuite, Workday).
• Ability to understand, interpret, and operate within complex chemical or mechanical manufacturing processes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to influence stakeholders from shop floor to senior management and to represent the company to external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure site compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and internal GE Vernova requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and report site-specific data to support external regulatory requirements.
• Identify and control workplace hazards; participate in MOC risk assessments and risk reduction projects.
• Develop, implement, and maintain site EHS procedures; facilitate or deliver site-specific training.
• Maintain accurate EHS records in digital platforms (Gensuite, Workday).
• Collaborate with supervision, engineering, and shop floor to strengthen safety ownership.
• Lead risk reduction initiatives and Strength of Defense strategies.
• Partner with Operations and Facilities to promote a safety-first mindset across the site.
• Facilitate EHS incident reviews to identify root causes and develop long-term solutions.
• Support site-wide initiatives and integration of new technology to enhance safety systems.
• Support communication and implementation of GE Vernova's Life Saving Rules.
