One focus area of the Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) mission is to provide tools, resources, and environments that support safe, efficient, healthy behaviors and encourage employees to proactively manage their health and wellbeing. To support this focus, Amazon is seeking a full-time WHS Specialist (WHSS) to serve as a designated representative for their assigned building, coordinating and implementing all areas of the Amazon Global Program as directed by leadership. The WHSS promotes a positive culture while ensuring compliance with Amazon standards and maintaining a safe work environment. Responsibilities include conducting trainings and coaching associates on observed work habits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for reporting to onsite management and corporate systems.
• Support management to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable laws.
• Conduct risk assessments related to jobs and new equipment (Job Hazard Analysis).
• Recommend risk mitigation measures, including ergonomics, to management.
• Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Candidates without an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must obtain it within 3 weeks of start date.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
• At least 1 year in an EHS-related field, a Bachelor’s in a relevant field, or 6 months experience within Amazon in a safety role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in worker's compensation case management.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a safety-related field.
• Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer service skills.
• Experience leading teams, analyzing safety data, and conducting safety analyses.
• Experience in emergency response and current First Aid and CPR certifications.

The salary range for this position varies by geographic location, from $50,500 to $76,500 annually, with additional benefits and potential bonuses.
