Job Description
The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to work at our sauces processing facility in Fremont, OH. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering Operational Risk Management (ORM) processes including Safety & Health, Environment, Business Continuity, Facility Security, Asset Conservation, Department of Transportation (DOT), and Pandemic Planning at the factory location. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as Kraft Heinz policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety and Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in safety and environmental management, preferably in the food industry
- Minimum of 1 year managerial or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA Regulations, DOT Regulations, and Management Systems (ISO 14001, Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred)
Responsibilities & Duties
- Act as a backup for the ORM Manager
- Implement the Kraft Heinz Safety Playbook and Safety Rules
- Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in developing procedures and corrective actions
- Drive ORM strategies aligned with corporate objectives to reduce operational risk
- Use key metrics to illustrate ORM performance
- Communicate ORM factory results
- Participate in ORM conferences, webcasts, and regional meetings
- Collaborate with Factory Management on incidents affecting brand integrity
- Ensure compliance with ORM legislation and policies
- Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives in ORM
- Manage ORM systems and provide training
- Ensure ORM compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Assist with injury and claim management, including Workers’ Compensation
- Lead process improvement initiatives (Six Sigma / KHMS)
- Supervise ORM staff and perform performance management
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
