Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead EHSS programs, implement policies, and ensure regulatory compliance across facilities. This role focuses on building strategies for safe, compliant operations and protecting the company's reputation.

The position requires developing and overseeing environmental, health, safety and security programs, budgeting for EHSS activities, and guiding training, investigations, and continuous improvement across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety / EHS field.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Leadership experience or lead roles on projects.
• Certified Safety Professional license preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Manages Environmental Health Safety and Security budget.
• Represent facility on Global EHSS Council; manage EHSS via ISO-based platform.
• Perform routine tasks such as project safety plans, JHA, incident investigations, and workplace observations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor safety initiatives.
• Identify, develop and conduct required EHSS trainings.
• Manage worker's compensation claim process.
