Job summary

Amazon in Chandler, AZ is hiring a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS) to elevate safety culture across sites. You will lead audits, investigations, and risk assessments while training staff and implementing data-driven safety programs.

As the safety champion, you'll build partnerships with associates and leadership, support emergency response, and navigate variable shifts including days, nights and weekends. This role requires adaptability and a strong commitment to protecting employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year in an environmental health & safety field, or a bachelor's in an EHS-related background.
• 6 months of safety-related experience within Amazon.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personal issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Deliver engaging safety training that resonates with associates and promotes a proactive safety culture.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workplace safety and efficiency.
• Transform safety data into compelling narratives to influence positive change.
• Serve as a trusted safety advisor with strong partnerships across the organization.
• Assist emergency response at the site and support safety-related decisions.
