Job summary

Cosmo Cabinets in Eatonton, Georgia is seeking a Safety Coordinator to develop, implement, and maintain our safety and environmental compliance program for a cabinet manufacturing facility. This on-site role leads OSHA compliance, hazardous materials handling, and finishing‑department safety including water‑based paints and spray booths.

You will deliver safety training, chair the Safety Committee, conduct inspections and investigations, and promote a proactive safety culture across woodworking,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of safety or EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards (29 CFR 1910)
• HAZWOPER certification (40‑hour or 24‑hour) or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Knowledge of water‑based paint and coating systems, spray finishing operations, and safety requirements
• Experience developing and delivering employee safety training
• Experience leading or facilitating a safety committee
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enforce written safety programs and policies per OSHA 29 CFR 1910
• Conduct routine safety audits and inspections of the woodshop and production areas
• Maintain HazCom program, SDS, labeling, and chemical inventories
• Manage OSHA programs including Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Respiratory Protection
• Serve as SME on water‑based paints, finishes, and related safety practices
• Oversee hazardous waste handling in line with EPA RCRA and state rules
• Maintain HAZWOPER procedures for spill response and training
• Coordinate air permit, VOC tracking, and environmental reporting
• Administer respiratory protection program including medical evaluations and fit testing
• Develop and deliver new-hire safety orientation and annual refreshers
• Record training, certifications, and expiration tracking for ongoing compliance
• Organize monthly Safety Committee meetings and update leadership
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety huddles, and floor walk-throughs
• Track safety KPIs such as TRIR and audit findings
• Maintain emergency plans and conduct evacuation drills
• Coordinate with local fire department on chemical storage and facility hazards
