Job Summary:

As the EHS Manager, you will ultimately be responsible for leading environmental, health, and safety programs across CNS operations while ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and local, state, and federal regulations. You will manage safety training, regulatory compliance, incident investigations, and field safety initiatives to promote an Incident Free culture. As the EHS Manager, your customers are Congruex employees, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through proactive safety leadership, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • Lead and administer comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with Congruex policies, client requirements, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Plan and conduct safety audits, jobsite inspections, incident investigations, safety orientations, risk assessments, and compliance reviews while implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop, organize, and deliver employee safety training programs, including OSHA, DOT compliance, confined space, trench and excavation safety, CPR/First Aid, Drug-Free Workplace, and Competent Person training.
  • Partner with project teams, customers, subcontractors, and leadership to promote an Incident Free culture and ensure consistent implementation of safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor safety performance, maintain OSHA and employee training records, prepare regulatory reports, facilitate safety committee meetings, and communicate safety trends and recommendations to leadership.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to provide field safety oversight, coaching, compliance support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.
Required Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • OSHA safety certifications or equivalent safety training required.
Experience
  • 5–10 years of experience in an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager role.
  • 2–3 years of experience delivering HSE training within the industrial construction industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting underground utility, civil underground, OSP, or industrial construction operations.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, DOT, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Ability to conduct safety audits, incident investigations, hazard assessments, and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safe work practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and reporting systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel domestically as required.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor construction environments, including stairs, ladders, rough terrain, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST).
  • Associate Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
  • OSHA 500 Certification.
  • Experience with trenching and excavation, shoring, confined space, traffic control, and DOT compliance.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in office and construction environments for extended periods.
  • Work performed outdoors, in varying weather conditions, on uneven terrain, in confined spaces, at heights, and in active construction zones.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
