GTI Fabrication is seeking a Safety Manager to lead Environmental Health & Safety programs at our Buffalo manufacturing facility. This hands-on role partners with Operations, Engineering, Quality, HR and leadership to ensure safe work practices, regulatory compliance, incident prevention and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will develop policies, procedures and safety protocols for all operations, drive a culture of accountability, and sustain safety systems during rapid production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience in EHS, Safety, or Environmental Health roles.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or fabrication environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
• Proven experience building or scaling safety programs in fast-paced environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-level Environmental Health & Safety programs aligned with OSHA and company standards.
• Establish scalable safety systems to support plant growth and workforce expansion.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site-wide communication initiatives.
• Drive a strong safety culture through leadership engagement, training, and daily reinforcement.
• Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and JHAs; identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Lead investigations for injuries and near misses; perform root-cause analysis and track corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, HR, and leadership to embed safety in daily operations.
• Track KPIs (TRIR, incidents, audits) and build dashboards for leadership visibility.
