Job summary

Trojan Battery Company seeks a Safety and Environmental Manager to lead the development, coordination, and management of the company’s safety and environmental programs in a lean manufacturing setting. You will drive behavior-based safety training and foster a positive safety culture across the facility.

The role involves coordinating EHS programs, maintaining regulatory compliance, and delivering training to all facility personnel while partnering with medical and HR teams to manage workers’

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA/EPA) and emergency preparedness.
• Willingness to travel to other locations for training or site visits.
• Proficient with MS Office apps and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EHS programs to ensure regulatory and company compliance.
• Develop and deliver safety and environmental training and learning.
• Maintain water treatment and wastewater equipment and logs.
• Prepare reports and maintain logs for treatment systems and chemical usage.
• Build a cohesive team and lead safety and environmental initiatives.
• Investigate and address hazardous conditions and unsafe practices.
• Interface with OSHA and other inspectors; ensure permitting requirements are met.
• Lead cost-control efforts and participate in manufacturing improvement committees.
