Job summary

Pilot Company is seeking an EHS Manager to lead safety management system development and application, including process safety requirements across Midstream operations. The role partners with stakeholders to implement SMS, incident management, and safety communications, applying strong analytical and reporting skills to drive improvements.

The ideal candidate will champion safety, mentor teams, and deliver EHS goals that reduce incidents and enhance regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in occupational safety or equivalent with safety certification.
• CSP/CRSP/NEBOSH/CMIOSH preferred.
• 10+ years in downstream/petrochemical or fuel terminals with process safety experience.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and permitting.
• Process Safety Management, ISO 45001/ANSI Z10 knowledge.
• Strong written, verbal and listening communication skills.
• Ability to innovate, lead change, and work collaboratively.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Up to 50% travel; able to pass health and safety fitness tests.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety stand, values, and zero-starts culture with stakeholders and contractors.
• Identify and solve SMS/PSM challenges; promote best practices.
• Provide leadership through coaching and training on EHS programs and systems.
• Deliver solutions to complex EHS problems using experienced judgment.
• Develop and execute EHS goals to reduce incidents and improve SMS adoption.
• Influence operations and contractors to apply best EHS practices.
• Create function-based strategic EHS goals for stakeholders.
• Lead incident investigations using Why Tree, Ishikawa, DNV, or Tap Root methods.
• Develop, monitor, and implement occupational hygiene plans.
• Establish governance to ensure SMS, PSM, and regulatory compliance for Midstream.
• Classify incidents per HECA and OSHA 300; present EHS topics regionally and enterprise-wide.
