Job summary

Blue Signal Search is partnering with a manufacturing organization in Rockford, IL to find an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager. This hands-on leader will shape a proactive safety culture, mentor four safety leads, and partner with operations to embed safety into daily work.

You will oversee OSHA compliance, incident investigations, and continuous improvement of safety controls, training, and engagement across the site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, LOTO, machine guarding.
• Proven track record in safety culture improvement.
• Experience mentoring safety personnel.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a proactive safety culture across manufacturing operations.
• Coach and develop four safety leads, setting clear expectations and growth plans.
• Collaborate with production and facility leadership to identify risks and implement controls.
• Oversee OSHA compliance and internal safety expectations.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Monitor safety performance with observations, audits, and leading indicators.
• Deliver engaging safety training and drive workforce involvement.
