Job summary

Bristol-Myers Squibb, at the Indianapolis manufacturing site, seeks an EHS Manager to develop, implement, and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety programs. The role partners with operations, quality, engineering, facilities, and supply chain to ensure regulatory readiness and proactive safety culture.

Reporting to the Director of Health Physics, you will lead incident investigations, training, and environmental compliance, while driving risk reduction and performance metrics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or regulated environments.
  • Experience leading EHS programs, audits, inspections, incident investigations, regulatory reporting, training, and corrective action management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, IDEM, IDHS, and other EHS requirements and management systems.
  • cGMP/pharmaceutical/regulated production environment experience preferred.
  • Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, administration, implementation, and continuous improvement of site EHS policies, programs, and management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, IDEM, IDHS, DOT, NRC/Agreement State, and other EHS requirements.
  • Serve as site EHS SME and partner to Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Facilities, and Supply Chain.
  • Lead risk assessments, JHA, industrial hygiene evaluations, and safety inspections to identify hazards and implement controls.
  • Own investigations for incidents, near-misses, injuries, spills, and environmental events with root cause analyses and corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs, including onboarding, refresher training, and emergency response.
  • Manage environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater/stormwater, and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit reports for OSHA, EPA, IDEM, IDHS and other authorities.
  • Lead emergency preparedness activities; maintain response plans and drills.
  • Establish and track EHS metrics, trends, and action status; report to leadership.
  • Support change management, new equipment/process reviews, contractor management and modifications.
  • Promote employee engagement through safety committees, gemba walks, and coaching.
  • Travel up to 10% may be required.
