Job summary

Otsuka ICU Medical in Austin, TX, seeks a senior leader to head Safety, Health and Environmental Control across the facility. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintain cGMP-aligned programs, and protect sterile environments and validated systems.

You will build and lead the EHS team, develop procedures and budgets, drive loss-control initiatives, and serve as the liaison with regulators to safeguard people, operations and the environment nationwide.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental safety or related fields.
• Experience in loss control, safety, industrial hygiene, environmental safety, or emergency response.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing operations.
• Certification, registration or licensure preferred: CSP, CHMM or CIH.

Responsibilities

• Lead the facility Safety, Health and Environmental departments and programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and align programs with cGMP standards.
• Develop procedures, policies, action plans, practices, and rules to reduce losses.
• Establish and administer Safety, Health and Environmental Department budget.
• Hire, train, evaluate and develop EHS staff.
• Provide technical guidance on safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, ergonomic, and fire protection issues.
• Coordinate with regulators and provide input on emergencies and changes to processes/equipment.
• Develop and manage loss control programs (e.g., lockout/tagout, confined space, IH monitoring).
• Prepare detailed reports on major losses and injuries.
• Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies.
