Job summary

ESS, Inc. is seeking an EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety programs across our Texas operations.

The role partners with leadership to reduce risk, promote a culture of safety, and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of EHS experience, strong OSHA/EPA knowledge, and proven ability to drive audits, investigations, and safety improvements throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of EHS experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience leading audits, investigations, and safety programs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee EHS policies, programs, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across operations.
• Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Drive safety culture through leadership engagement, training, and employee involvement.
• Manage environmental programs including waste management, air emissions, and sustainability initiatives.
• Track, analyze, and report EHS metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
• Lead emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Oversee workers’ compensation cases and return-to-work programs.
• Collaborate with operations, HR, and leadership to integrate safety into daily business processes.
• Manage and mentor EHS staff or site safety personnel
