Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Manufacturing Plant EHS Manager II to lead safety and environmental initiatives in a complex, matrixed manufacturing environment. You will own and elevate EHS processes and partner across functions to embed safety into daily operations.

With 5–10 years of experience, you will conduct risk assessments, audits, and regulatory reporting, and drive training, engagement, and KPI performance to foster a strong safety culture across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• 5–10 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial setting.
• 3–5 years of team management experience.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001/45001/9001 and behavior-based safety.
• Proficient in EHS data analytics and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies in line with OSHA, EPA, ISO standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (JHA, HAZOP), and ergonomic reviews.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across multiple units in a matrixed structure.
• Lead environmental reporting, waste characterization, and submissions.
• Lead and participate in EHS audits and risk assessments.
• Partner with Legal on regulatory topics and data management with EHS systems.
• Track leading indicators and drive KPI performance.
