Job summary

TreeHouse Foods, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager for our Wayland, MI plant.

You will lead all EHS programs, ensure regulatory compliance, drive safety culture, training, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. The role requires a minimum of 5 years in manufacturing EHS, a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field, and strong knowledge of EHS regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Business Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on EHS program implementation and oversight.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, governmental standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to lead change and influence safety culture across all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Experience with safety management systems and risk assessments preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve site-wide safety, environmental, and risk management programs.
• Oversee workplace incident management, including injury and illness recordkeeping, investigations, corrective actions, safety metrics, and reporting.
• Lead safety audits, hazard assessments, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Coordinate emergency response and business continuity activities, including drills and incident command responsibilities.
• Deliver and oversee EHS training programs, ensuring certifications and documentation remain current.
• Partner with plant leadership, employees, and safety committees to foster a proactive safety culture.
