Job summary

Amgen’s Cambridge, MA process development site seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead contractor safety oversight and high-hazard work programs. You will translate regulatory requirements into practical site processes, review plans and risk controls, and coach teams and contractors to strengthen safety performance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; professional EH&S experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of Sci Tech - EH&S experience or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree with 6+ years of Sci Tech - EH&S experience or equivalent.
• High school diploma / GED with 8+ years of Sci Tech - EH&S experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead site contractor safety oversight with Facilities and Engineering and project teams.
• Own and maintain assigned site programs for high hazard work and control systems.
• Interpret Amgen standards, federal/MA requirements, and site controls; identify gaps and implement risk reduction.
• Conduct field visits, inspections, and audits to verify controls and drive improvements.
• Provide guidance and training on hazard recognition and permit requirements.
