Job summary

PLZ Corp is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager in Coal City, IL to drive regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of safety programs. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and a strong behavioral-based safety culture.

You will lead audits, training programs, and incident investigations, while coordinating with the Director of EHS and other leaders to align priorities and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in safety, environmental science, health, chemistry, engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years related EHS experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure company compliance with all applicable EHS regulations.
• Conduct hazard identifications, trainings and risk assessments.
• Audit facilities for safe work practices and regulatory standards.
• Oversee Operator Training, Contractor Safety Training and Mechanical Integrity Training.
• Develop and implement policies to prevent incidents and environmental impact.
• Lead incident investigations and communicate findings across sites.
• Drive near-miss reporting, risk mitigation and safety culture initiatives.
• Manage EHS training programs including Emergency Action, Fire Prevention, GHS and Lockout/Tagout.
• Provide data for annual EHS state and federal reporting.
