Job summary

Alston Construction is seeking an EHS Manager to supervise the safety program across assigned projects in Springfield, IL. You will train site crews, enforce OSHA compliance, and drive safety initiatives with field leadership.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Occupational Safety and Health, 5+ years in construction safety, OSHA credentials, and first aid certification. On-site travel is required, with a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management with a general contractor.
• OSHA 30-hour Certification; OSHA 500 preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
• EHS training/certifications in Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Excavation and Trenching, HAZCOM.

Responsibilities

• Support and promote a strong safety culture on projects.
• Implement site safety policies in compliance with OSHA and regulations.
• Identify training needs and develop safety awareness initiatives.
• Manage Jobsite Safety Orientations for new workers.
• Design and monitor safety metrics to track progress.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and follow up on deficiencies.
• Coordinate Weekly All Hands Safety Meetings with subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents using Root Cause Analysis and report findings.
