Job summary

Alston Construction is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead the safety program for assigned projects. You will train site employees, enforce safety policies, and ensure regulatory compliance to protect our workers and project interests.

You will develop metrics, conduct safety orientations, and coordinate with project teams to maintain a robust safety environment across sites in Springfield, IL and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety management with a construction general contractor.
• Valid State-issued driver’s license and satisfactory driving record and vehicle insurance.
• OSHA 30-hour Certification; OSHA 500 preferred; CSP/CHST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and promote Alston Construction’s strong safety culture, both internally and externally.
• Implement site safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations (OSHA).
• Design and implement metrics to monitor progress and effectiveness of safety initiatives, programs, policies, procedures and processes.
• Manage and conduct Jobsite Safety Orientations for new workers.
• Coordinate Weekly All Hands Safety Meetings with Subcontractors and maintain attendance records.
• Investigate incidents using Root Cause Analysis and report findings to leadership.
