Job summary

Skanska USA is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to integrate EHS practices into project delivery and ensure regulatory and SHEMS compliance across projects. You will collaborate with EHS staff, superintendents, and project teams to drive safe operations and continuous improvement.

The role requires 5+ years in hazard identification and safety communication within construction, OSHA 30 certification, and a degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience identifying safety hazards and recommending controls.
• 5+ years of safety role experience with communication across all levels in a construction environment.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Safety Management, Engineering, or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 7 years prior relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Integrate EHS practices into project delivery and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate SHEMS requirements on assigned projects.
• Partner with EHS staff, superintendents, project management, and regional EHS leadership; conduct site inspections and observations to verify proper use of safety equipment and controls.
• Develop and administer EHS programs and training; lead surveys, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Maintain EHS records and performance data; manage subcontractor EHS onboarding and documentation.
• Support safety and pre-construction meetings; lead site walks, compliance checks, and emergency preparedness activities.
• Track leading and lagging indicators to drive continuous improvement.
