Job summary

Nox Metals in Ferndale, MI, is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to design and implement an EHS program from the ground up on the factory floor. You will train shift leads, oversee new-hire and refresher training, and drive hazard assessments to closure.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in EHS and 7+ years in manufacturing EHS, with a proven track record building programs and ensuring OSHA/MIOSHA compliance. This role is full time and on site in Ferndale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EHS or related field.
• 7+ years in EHS in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Builder mindset: designed and implemented EHS programs, not just maintained them.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the EHS program from the ground up with support as needed.
• Train shift leads and lead new-hire and refresher training.
• Run hazard assessments and incident investigations to closure.
• Own OSHA/MIOSHA recordkeeping and permits, audit-ready readiness.
• Manage PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, forklift and crane safety.
• Collaborate with ops and software on engineering controls when safety issues relate to process/equipment.
