Job summary

Nox Metals in Ferndale, MI is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to design and implement an EHS program from the ground up. You will lead training, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and ensure OSHA/MIOSHA compliance at the Detroit-area facility.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field and 7+ years in manufacturing EHS, with a proven track record of building programs and working across shop floor operations to enforce safe practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field.
7+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
Proven track record designing and implementing EHS programs, not just maintaining them.

Responsibilities

Design and implement the EHS program from the ground up, with support from People Operations as needed.
Train shift leads so the basics run without you, and lead new-hire and refresher training.
Run hazard assessments and incident investigations to closure.
Own OSHA/MIOSHA recordkeeping and permits, and keep the site audit-ready.
Manage PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and forklift and crane safety.
Work with ops and software on engineering controls when safety issues trace back to process or equipment.
