Job summary

Verdesian Life Sciences is seeking an EHS leader for the Cape site to drive safety culture and compliant practices. You will develop and execute the EHS strategy, coach site leadership, and engage employees on hazard identification, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement on the production floor.

You will conduct JHAs, manage Permit-to-Work, lead investigations, and implement 5S/LEAN housekeeping standards while maintaining strong regulatory compliance and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial EHS experience in high-risk environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or related field.
• CSP preferred.
• Experience with NFPA 660 compliance strongly desired.
• LEAN/5S experience for housekeeping and operational improvement.
• Willingness for night shift presence one to two days per month.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an EHS strategy tailored to the Cape site.
• Coach leadership to own EHS responsibilities and foster a safety-first culture.
• Lead safety observations and real-time coaching on behavioral safety.
• Implement site-wide safety campaigns and 5S/LEAN housekeeping improvements.
• Oversee hazard identification, JHA/Risk Assessments, and Permit-to-Work systems.
• Manage emergency preparedness and PPE management.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Establish leading indicators and improve Risk Assessment Analyses.
