Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Dixie Jackson facility in Jackson, TN seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety Leader to develop and oversee EHS programs ensuring federal, state, local compliance and company standards. The role reports to the plant manager, shaping the safety culture and leading the EHS team with strong support from Dixie leadership.

The position emphasizes PBM alignment, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement through audits, incident investigations, and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Environmental, EHS, or Engineering OR four (4) or more years of EH&S experience.
• Strong knowledge of EH&S regulations and best practices.
• Experience and working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance.
• Experience developing site regulatory compliance programs and training.
• Experience using and applying effective safety management systems.
• Experience leading, supervising or building capabilities in others.

Responsibilities

• Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management culture.
• Partners with site leadership to influence all team members to embrace and achieve our Path to Zero Safety Strategy.
• Partners with site leadership to ensure facility risk profile is reduced through development and implementation of key objectives, strategies targets and measures.
• Responsible for all systems and processes that manage EHS risk at the facility (Compliance standards, Risk Management System, HIRA, Safety Training, etc.).
• Effectively communicates facility safety vision, strategies, and performance to internal and external stakeholders.
• Foster an environment where employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding EH&S.
• Facilitate EH&S ownership by the line organization through integration of the EH&S Management System.
• Drive continuous improvement using self-assessments, audits, incident investigations, metrics, and reviews.
• Coach, mentor and develop members of the safety team(s).
• Own and effectively manage the injury management and workers compensation process.
