Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Dixie® Consumer Products Operation seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety Leader to develop, implement, and oversee EHS programs at the Jackson, TN facility. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while partnering with plant leadership.

You will coach the safety team, drive PBM culture, lead risk reduction efforts, manage injury and workers' comp processes, and report to the plant manager as part of the leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, EHS, or Engineering or 4+ years of EH&S experience.
  • Strong knowledge of EH&S regulations and best practices.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations and compliance.
  • Experience developing site regulatory compliance programs and training.
  • Experience leading or building capabilities in others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and oversight of EHS programs at the Jackson facility.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Job description

Georgia-Pacific Dixie® Consumer Products Operation is seeking qualified professionals to consider for our Environmental, Health & Safety Leader role supporting the newly built facility located in Jackson, TN.

The Environmental Health & Safety Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the environmental, health, and safety programs at Georgia-Pacific Dixie-Jackson facility. This position ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and standards.

The EHS Leader reports directly to the plant manager and has a critical role on the facility leadership team. In this role you will work closely with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. You will also lead and develop the EHS specialist(s), and you will have a strong support system with the Dixie divisional EHS leadership.

What You Will Do
  • Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture
  • Partners with site leadership to influence all team members to embrace and achieve our Path to Zero Safety Strategy consistent with Koch’s Safety Vision.
  • Partners with site leadership to ensure facility risk profile is reduced through development and implementation of key objectives, strategies targets and measures.
  • Responsible for all systems and processes that manage EHS risk at the facility (Compliance standards, compliance standard ownership model, Risk Management System, Hazard Identification and Risks Assessment (HIRA), Safety Improvement Planning, Safety Training, etc.).
  • Effectively communicates facility safety vision, strategies, and performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster an environment where employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding EH&S ensuring the EH&S vision is developed and integrated
  • Facilitate EH&S ownership by the line organization through integration of the EH&S Management System
  • Drive continuous improvement using tools and activities, including self-assessments and audit processes; incident/near miss investigations; metrics and targets (leading and lagging indicators); and periodic reviews of performance, culture, and talent.
  • Coach, mentor and develop members of the safety team(s)
  • Own and effectively manage the injury management and workers compensation process
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety, Environmental, EHS, or Engineering OR four (4) or more years of EH&S experience
  • Strong knowledge of EH&S regulations and best practices
  • Experience and working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance
  • Experience developing site regulatory compliance programs and training
  • Experience using and applying effective safety management systems
  • Experience leading, supervising or building capabilities in others
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical solutions
  • Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
