Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Dixie® Consumer Products Operation in Jackson, TN seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist to join the Safety Team. The role is 80% Safety and 20% Environmental, developing and overseeing programs to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safety culture.

The EH&S Specialist will lead risk assessments, training, and continuous improvement, collaborating with operations to reduce risk and ensure PBM principles are applied across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental, health, and safety roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of EH&S regulations and best practices.
• Experience using and applying effective EHS Management Systems, and achieving demonstrated results.
• Experience and working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance.
• Experience developing site regulatory compliance programs and training.

Responsibilities

• Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our PBM culture.
• Support facility and department level risk assessments and Improvement Plan development.
• Assist in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing corrective actions to reduce risk.
• Assist in the ongoing utilization of Hazard Identification Risk Assessments (HIRA) efforts.
• Partner with operations to lead hazard identification and risk assessment efforts and implementing corrective actions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of core EHS programs such as Lock Tag Verify, Confined Space, Emergency Preparedness, Fall Protection, Incident Investigation, and more.
• Provide leadership and support to mill compliance system owners to ensure knowledge and skills.
• Prepare and conduct required regulatory training and raise safety awareness.
• Be a visible EHS resource in the field with operations, maintenance, and contract teams.
• Participate in incident investigations to drive learning and prevent recurrence.
• Assist in integration and continuous improvement in HOP and SML.
