Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group seeks an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety and environmental compliance at a structural steel fabrication plant in New York. You will work on the shop floor with employees and management to strengthen safety standards, reduce risk and build a culture of safe working practices across daily operations on-site.

Relocation support is available for the right candidate and you will report to operations leadership to drive continuous safety

Qualifications

• 5+ years of EHS or safety management in manufacturing.
• Experience implementing safety programmes in a plant/fabrication shop.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and relevant environmental regulations.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits and incident investigations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining safety policies, procedures and compliance programmes.
• Conducting plant safety audits, inspections and risk assessments.
• Leading incident and near-miss investigations.
• Identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Delivering safety training and improving employee awareness.
• Monitoring OSHA, EPA and state/local regulatory requirements.
• Reviewing safety performance and reporting on compliance.
• Working with supervisors and management to improve safe working practices.
• Supporting regulatory, insurance and environmental inspections.
