Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field.
• 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience in regulated environments with sanitation programs and GMP preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication, organizational, and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet research.
• Regulatory knowledge OSHA, EPA, state and local requirements.
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Promote proactive safety participation; report and investigate injuries, illnesses, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Lead development and maintenance of EHS programs and policies to meet compliance.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify safety hazards and environmental impacts.
• Train employees on emergency procedures, hazard communication, PPE, and safe handling of materials.
• Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Provide technical support and maintain essential EHS program documentation.
• Submit required regulatory reporting in a timely manner.
• Develop sustainable environmental practices including waste management and energy conservation.
• Coordinate corrective actions from audits, inspections, incidents, and assessments.
• Maintain safety audits, inspections, training, and incident reports.
• Present reports to management and corporate EHS on performance and trends.
• Work with management to implement improvements based on audits and feedback.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and enhance safety and environmental performance.
• Lead and develop the facility safety committee.
• Coordinate drills (fire, evacuation, first aid) and training for emergencies.
• Perform other EHS&S duties as assigned.
