Job summary

Skydio is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to build scalable EHS programs across HQ, R&D, field deployments, and customer sites. You will identify hazards, implement controls, investigate incidents, and deliver training, partnering with EHS Leadership and operations.

This office-based role at our HQ in San Mateo, CA requires travel to deployment locations and field sites as needed. 3+ years of EHS experience and OSHA knowledge are key.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive EHS specialist-level experience.
• Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Working knowledge of OSHA general-industry requirements and safety practices.
• Experience conducting JHAs, risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Ability to interpret regulations and translate into practical safety controls.
• Willingness to travel and work in diverse environments including field sites.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of EHS programs across Headquarters, R&D, Field Operations, and deployment activities.
• Partner with EHS Leadership to build new divisional safety programs, procedures, training, inspection systems, risk assessments, and operational controls.
• Conduct field and site safety assessments for deployments, installations, customer locations, and remote operations.
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task risk assessments, and site-specific risk assessments; recommend controls.
• Develop training and deliver EHS programs to employees, managers, field teams, engineers, and contractors.
• Maintain EHS documentation, training records, inspection records, incident records, and corrective-action tracking.
• Support EHS audits, regulatory readiness, PPE management, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
