Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking an onsite EH&S leader to drive environmental, health, and safety strategy across San Diego and Madison facilities. The role emphasizes building a proactive safety culture, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. The position requires a BS in Environmental Science, 5+ years of EHS manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and good communication skills.

Travel about 30% between sites is expected. U.S.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Environmental Science or related field; minimum 5 years of experience in EHS in manufacturing.
• Management experience and strong teamwork skills; ability to lead and build teams.
• Strong communication, organization and negotiation skills are mandatory.
• Excellent PC-based computer skills.
• Experience with OSHA and annual compliance training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure EH&S programs comply with laws and DRS EH&S Policy.
• Develop proactive safety programs with metrics and oversight.
• Interface with governmental/regulatory agencies and manage site regulatory relationships.
• Manage site performance and contract commitments for continuous improvement.
• Lead risk assessment processes and deliver EHS development/training programs.
• Maintain procedures, plans, and audit-ready documentation.
• Provide EHS audit services, project management and training as required.
• Support, communicate, and reinforce organizational mission and values.
• Lead participation of leadership in daily environmental, health and safety management.
