Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) in Freeman, SD is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety professional to lead safety programs across facilities.

You will enforce OSHA standards, manage training, and conduct audits and incident investigations to safeguard employees and product quality. The role involves coordinating with maintenance and quality teams, managing DOT documentation, lab calibration, hazardous waste handling, and regulatory reporting to sustain GMP, SQF and food safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in safety management, industrial health and safety, safety engineering or related field from accredited college or university or combination of education and relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Report safety, food safety and quality issues to management.
• Lead and enforce OSHA safety programs and policies.
• Administer training programs compliant with OSHA regulations.
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste inspections and records.
• Monitor EHS data, perform site inspections, and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage DOT driver files, drug screening, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, SQF, and AMPI food safety requirements.
