Job summary

Shelby County Schools is seeking a safety and compliance professional to oversee fire life safety and occupational health across district facilities in Memphis. The role ensures OSHA and AHERA compliance, coordinates safety training, and manages documentation for a wide range of life safety systems.

The candidate will liaise with contractors, AHJs, and school staff, updating compliance records and coordinating inspections, tests, and preventive actions district-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least four years of related experience, or eight years total with equivalent education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities for OSHA and fire life compliance.
• Coordinate safety training and records for Facilities Maintenance.
• Manage AHERA documentation and updates with required school information.
• Liaise with contractors and authorities on life safety matters.
• Maintain compliance databases and testing schedules.
