Job summary

Sandvik Coromant in Westminster, SC is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to lead and support initiatives that protect employees, ensure regulatory compliance, and advance environmental stewardship.

You will develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs, conduct audits and incident investigations, coordinate training and emergency readiness, and work with operations to integrate safety into daily manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or related environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards (29 CFR 1910), EPA Regulations (40 CFR), and DOT Regulations (49 CFR).
• Experience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, procedures, and management systems.
• Develop and deliver EHS training, engagement, and safety awareness programs to strengthen knowledge and proactive safety culture.
• Conduct facility inspections, audits, JHAs, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Lead incident investigations and environmental event analyses using root-cause methodologies.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness, evacuation planning, HazMat response, and drills.
• Administer safety programs such as Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Hazard Communication, LOTO, Contractor Safety, IH Monitoring, and Risk Management.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and site leadership to integrate EHS into daily operations.
• Monitor EHS KPIs and manage regulatory reporting, permits, and communications with agencies.
• Support sustainability initiatives focused on waste reduction and environmental performance.
