Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to lead safety excellence across manufacturing facilities. You will develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs, ensuring OSHA/EPA compliance while driving continuous improvement and employee engagement on safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
• Experience with safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste management and environmental compliance.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and leadership at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update programs accordingly.
• Maintain OSHA logs, incident records, audit reports, SDS documentation, and compliance records.
• Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and facility assessments.
• Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Develop JHAs, SOPs, and safety documentation.
• Coordinate and deliver new hire safety orientations and ongoing training.
• Promote safety awareness and employee participation; facilitate Safety Committee meetings.
• Manage hazardous waste handling, storage, labeling, and disposal.
• Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
• Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and preparedness programs.
• Assist leadership in maintaining readiness for emergencies.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Leadership to integrate EHS practices.
• Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple locations.
