Job summary

Calgon Carbon is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for our Columbus Plant in Columbus, OH. You will lead safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive EHS initiatives with support from the central EHS function and local management.

You will develop and maintain ISO systems, promote health and wellness programs, provide EHS training, and collaborate with operations to address hazards and improve safety culture at the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of Environmental Management experience required.
• Regulatory and permitting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety at the Columbus Plant and ensure day-to-day environmental compliance by plant personnel.
• Develop and implement safety programs, including process safety and risk reduction.
• Provide EHS training, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
• Coordinate with regulators, plant management, and the EHS team to meet permits and standards.
• Promote an autonomous EHS culture and maintain ISO certifications.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering or related technical field
