Job summary

Calgon Carbon | A Kuraray Company is seeking a Production Manager III in Columbus, OH. The role leads the production group, coaches supervisors, and ensures safe, compliant, and efficient operations within a multi-site environment.

The position oversees planning, staffing, training, and cost control while mentoring team members and aligning with safety and environmental standards. Hybrid schedules and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university is required (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Process Engineering; equivalent education or work experience is also accepted)
• A master’s degree or equivalent is preferred
• 0-2 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is required
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience is required
• 7-10 years of manufacturing experience is required

Responsibilities

• Review and approve production documents; administer OT as needed; train employees
• Maintain environmental compliance and coordinate with environmental group
• Ensure processes and equipment comply with permits through monitoring and coaching operators
• Lead by example for safe work in the plant
• Investigate incidents and participate in safety observations
• Maintain safety policies and SOP adherence
• Review MOC and ensure safe changes to processes/equipment
• Manage cost performance to budget and allocate resources
• Monitor KPIs and drive performance improvements
• Oversee production planning and staffing, including overtime
• Ensure training and SOP compliance across teams
• Foster team development and skills progression
