Job summary

Carolina Container a division of New Indy seeks a Director of Environmental, Health and Safety to lead all EHS programs across manufacturing and warehouse operations. The role ensures regulatory compliance while promoting a culture of safety excellence and the development of policies to maintain a safe workplace.

The position requires directing policies, programs, and training, evaluating facilities for risk, and reporting health and safety metrics to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field is required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CSD, ASP, or CIH preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and compliance.
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and workers' compensation handling.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and supervisors.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Monitor safety metrics and provide regular reports to leadership.
• Oversee environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
