Job summary

Pacific Coast Building Products, Inc. in Tacoma, WA is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator to develop, implement, and maintain safety, health, and environmental programs at the facility, partnering with supervisors and teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

You will conduct inspections, lead training, manage training records, support incident investigations, and ensure regulatory compliance while promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two or more years of related experience in manufacturing, safety, environmental compliance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to deliver training and communicate effectively with employees and management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain safety and environmental programs and documentation.
• Assist with employee safety training, toolbox talks, and safety awareness initiatives.
• Maintain employee training records and compliance documentation.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Support environmental compliance efforts, including permitting, reporting, inspections, and waste management activities.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and response programs.
• Communicate safety expectations and best practices with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Stay informed of applicable regulatory requirements and support plant compliance efforts.
