Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. is seeking an EHS Coordinator to support safety operations on a large-scale Life Sciences construction project in Kankakee, IL.

This role focuses on daily field safety activities, documentation, inspections, and coordination with contractors and project personnel. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of construction safety experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction safety experience.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, and management.
• Ability to spend extended periods on an active construction jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Safety Manager and project safety team with daily safety activities.
• Conduct routine jobsite safety observations, inspections, and documentation.
• Assist with monitoring compliance with OSHA requirements, site safety policies, and project-specific procedures.
• Support daily and weekly safety paperwork, reports, logs, and tracking.
• Assist with maintaining safety records, training documentation, inspection reports, and corrective-action documentation.
• Help coordinate and document toolbox talks, safety meetings, orientations, and training.
• Assist with tracking employee/site safety credentials and required documentation.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with site safety requirements.
• Assist with identifying unsafe conditions and communicating corrective actions to appropriate personnel.
• Support incident and near-miss documentation and follow-up.
• Assist with maintaining SDS documentation and other required safety records.
• Work closely with field supervision and subcontractors to promote safe work practices.
• Assist with maintaining organized electronic and physical project safety files.
• Support safety activities associated with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other MEP installations.
