Key Responsibilities

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance Coordinator is responsible to lead the environmental, health, and safety compliance functions and to provide leadership to the environmental, health, and safety functions throughout the organization.

Key Deliverables of the Position

1. Provide leadership to the organization and develop members of the EH&S teams.

2. Identify and implement strategic activity to facilitate continuous improvement to the EH&S Management System.

3. Minimize or eliminate incidents and injuries and implement corrective actions.

4. Ensure compliance with all required regulations.

5. Manage EH&S costs (supplies) and explain variances.

6. Identify and eliminate all applicable hazards and concerns.

7. Maintain a working knowledge of all applicable regulations.

8. Monitor all applicable hazardous material activity.

9. Maintain and monitor air emissions units, underground storage tanks, hazardous waste accumulation areas, and water outfalls.

Examples of Daily Activities

1) Maintain and monitor the Compliance Matrix/Task Calendar.

2) Investigate incidents, injuries, and hazard concerns and implement appropriate corrective actions.

3) Monitor the departmental KPM’s.

4) Set direction for purchase decisions and manage supply inventory.

5) Maintain and monitor all required records, permits, reports, licenses, fees, and registrations.

6) Interface with manufacturing routinely and upon implementation of all applicable process additions and modification.

7) Interface with applicable outside regulatory agencies routinely and during scheduled and unscheduled regulatory inspections.

8) Maintain and monitor all required training programs and written plans.

9) Maintain and monitor all hazardous materials through physical inventory, MSDS management, and new chemical approval review.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor Degree is preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Required Technical Competencies

1) Proficient Computer Skills (MS-Office, Various EH&S Software)

2) Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

a. Clearly conveys information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a group manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.

3) Information Gathering – The capacity to identify sources and compile relevant and appropriate information when needed, and the knowledge of where to go to obtain the information.

5) Proficient in Project Management - The capacity to plan, implement, and maintain fiscally responsible programs/projects using appropriate skills, and prioritize projects across the entire workload.

a. Initiates project - Identifies need for various projects and gains appropriate approval for project initiation.

b. Sets project plan - Demonstrates the ability to lay out a project plan which includes time, resources and budget requirements.

c. Execution of project - Demonstrates ability to follow through and carry out the details of a project plan.

d. Communication - Appropriately shares project status and potential problems with vested individuals. Communicates impact as needed throughout the organization.

e. Utilization of Resources - Appropriately utilizes resources to assist in the project completion. Maintains budget requirements.

6) Reporting, Documentation, and Recordkeeping – The capacity to produce reports to document actions, keep records, and inform appropriate parties.
