The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple truck dealership facilities throughout the Midwest, acting as an agent of influence and change.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Audits and recommends improvements to EHS systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal EPA, DOT, OSHA, and State and local regulations, meeting company expectations.
    • Performs gap analyses to identify risks at dealership and corporate facilities.
    • Inspects facilities, machinery, vehicles, equipment, and work practices to identify potential risks.
    • Partners with stakeholders to develop action plans, policies, and training to mitigate risks.
    • Represents the company in dealings with government agencies on EHS matters.
    • Coordinates permit activities for new and existing facilities.
  2. Manages environmental programs
    • Responds to hazardous material, waste, and environmental issues.
    • Maintains recordkeeping for federal EPA and State agencies.
    • Audits waste disposal practices as needed.
  3. Assists in EHS incident investigations
    • Supports local management in investigations and recommends preventive measures.
    • Summarizes incidents for management and suggests risk mitigation strategies.
    • Interacts with insurance carriers and brokers.
  4. Administers systems, programs, and records:
    • Injury/illness records, OSHA logs, and reports.
    • Return-to-Work program.
    • Spill prevention, containment, and cleanup plans.
    • Emergency preparedness and response plans.
    • Learning Management System.
    • Safety Data Sheet database.
    • Driver qualification files.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental, health, and safety regulations and injury prevention.
  • Ability to train others on EHS best practices.
  • Understanding of risk management principles.
  • Ability to travel across multiple states, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Proficiency with G-Suite applications.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience and Training Preferences:

3-5 years in environmental or workplace safety fields. Familiarity with auto/truck dealership environments, worker compensation laws in MI, IN, IL, WI, and chemical lifecycle management.

Licenses/Certificates Preferences:

Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred. Professional designations (CSP, ARM), trainer certifications, OSHA 10/30 hours.

Technology/Equipment:

Computer/phone, PPE, vehicle, forklift, aerial lift.
