POSITION SUMMARY:
Safety Coordinators are responsible for coordinating and overseeing the paperwork and documentation that supports the safety program. They are responsible for printing out and distributing documentation on a daily basis. They are also responsible for coordinating with safety groups and safety ambassador to update documentation to insure accuracy.
Safety Coordinators are responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing company's employee safety at work. Ensure that the company is in compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to reduce work-related injuries.
Safety Coordinator is responsible for setting safety standards for the work place based on legal requirements, train employees to help them understand safety rules, monitor working conditions and resolve any safety issues that may arise.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate with team members and the management.

- Solid knowledge of machine capabilities and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret production blueprints accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills and profound ability to schedule multiple activities and resources for efficient and effective utilization.
- Print out and distribute production schedule on a daily basis.
- Work with supervisor and leads to insure accuracy and timeliness of safety documentation.
- Coordinate with plant teams to update/adjust as changes in safety occur as required.
- Coordinate with EHS personnel for the weekly safety huddles.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by the EHS specialist or any of the management Team.
- Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks
- Develop and enforce OSH policies (e.g. accident reporting process)
- Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions
- Organize and conduct OSH training plans
- Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
- Intervene in unsafe activities or operations
- Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on OSH matters
REQUIRED EDUCATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office word, power point and Microsoft excel.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Bilingual is a plus.
- Minimum 0-2 years related work experience, or any appropriate combination of academic and work experience
- CPR certification (preferred), if not available, must have the ability to obtain one or pass the training.
- OSHA 30 HR training (preferred), if not available, must have the ability to obtain one or pass the training.
- Manufacturing Experience preferred.
- Must be able to prioritize and exercise independent judgment.
- Reliable transportation.
- Bilingual, English and Spanish required.
- Must be available to work full-time and overtime.
