Job summary

RTX is offering a co-op/Summer internship in Decorah, IA to work on Environmental Health & Safety initiatives within a manufacturing setting. You will implement and maintain the EH&S management system, and provide critical support to the site EH&S generalist to ensure timely, safe completion of actions.

You will gain hands-on experience with various manufacturing processes, learn about EH&S management systems, and develop skills to implement solutions that enhance ergonomics, health, and safety.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related STEM field.
• Actively enrolled in a degree program throughout the duration of the co-op session.
• Experience with CAD and 3D modeling is preferred.
• Knowledge of EH&S regulations and compliance standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) management system and programs.
• Provide critical EH&S support to the site EH&S generalist, ensuring all site actions are completed promptly and safely.
• Assist in developing strategies and policies to drive continuous improvement in EH&S.
• Support site projects and contractor safety programs.
• Gain an understanding of the site’s processes and equipment, identify relevant hazards, and ensure associated risks are maintained at acceptable levels.
