Job summary

LanceSoft is seeking an EHR Business Analyst for a 7-month hybrid assignment in Oklahoma City. You will work with project managers and stakeholders to define and validate business, clinical, operational, and data requirements across EHR initiatives.

You'll elicit and document requirements, translate workflows into testable specifications, support UAT, and help map current and future processes to drive standardization and better system outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a business analyst.
• Experience in federal/state government or public health is preferred.
• Experience documenting requirements, processes, and risks.

Responsibilities

Title: EHR Business Analyst Duration: 7 months (with no options to extend) - through June 30, 2027 Location: 123 Robert S. Kerr Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73012 Position: Hybrid

The Business Analyst will support agency efforts to assess, document, and define business, clinical, operational, technical, reporting, and data requirements associated with electronic health records (EHR) capabilities across the organization. The Business Analyst will work closely with the assigned Project Manager and collaborate with program, clinical, operational, information technology, data, compliance, and other stakeholders to develop a comprehensive and validated understanding of organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse, document, prioritize, and maintain business, clinical, operational, data, and reporting requirements for EHR initiatives, enhancements, and related capabilities.
• Translate stakeholder needs, workflows, challenges, and desired outcomes into clear, testable, and solution-neutral requirements.
• Distinguish underlying business and clinical needs from current-system limitations, existing practices, individual preferences, or assumptions about a specific technology solution.
• Analyse needs across programs and stakeholder groups to identify shared requirements, legitimate program-specific variations, conflicting needs, dependencies, and opportunities for standardization.
• Facilitate discussions to reconcile differences and document decisions or necessary exceptions.
• Facilitate structured stakeholder review of requirements to confirm accuracy, completeness, clarity, priority, and alignment with intended workflows.
• For EHR enhancements and implementations, support validation of configured functionality against approved requirements through workflow review, test scenario development, user acceptance testing, defect/issue documentation, and confirmation of readiness with appropriate stakeholders.
• Document and analyse current- and future-state workflows to identify gaps, impacts, dependencies, and opportunities for process improvement associated with EHR capabilities. Support development of process maps, business rules, use cases, requirements matrices, gap analyses, and other business analysis artifacts as appropriate.
• Work in close coordination with the Project Manager to plan and sequence business analysis activities, stakeholder engagement, requirements reviews, testing activities, and deliverables. Communicate requirements status, unresolved decisions, dependencies, risks, and issues while supporting the Project Manager's responsibility for overall project coordination, governance, schedule, and escalation.
• Provide business analysis support across concurrent EHR initiatives, including new capabilities, system enhancements, workflow changes, patient-facing functionality, and other efforts affecting the agency's use of the HER Requirements

Requirements Mandatory & preferential requirements include:

• Minimum of 3-5 years'experience as a business analyst. Preference given to experience in federal/state government, public health, healthcare, similar service-related business.
• Required bachelor's degree in business administration, management, healthcare administration or related degree;Preferred master's degree in MBA or MHA.
• Professional experience in business analysis, prioritization, requirements gathering sessions.
• Experience developing executive-level reports, process maps, workflow and SOP documentation, risk analysis.
• Lean Six Sigma, project management, change management, business analysis, or related professional training or certification is preferred.
